Industrial design is the creative process of design applied to products that are to be manufactured through mass production techniques and the key characteristic is that design is separated from manufacture. The creative act of determining and defining a product's form, often of great beauty, takes place in advance of the physical act of making a product, which consists purely of repeated and often automated replication.
By its nature electronics product design often includes industrial design and vice versa; whether the product is a simple circuit enclosure, a computer racking system, a complete product housing for a consumer or biomedical device, or a cutting edge confidential new product.
Amatek Design can assist in developing the full industrial design specification required to deliver a finished product, and we work with a number of Australia’s leading industrial design consultancies who have full teams of professional industrial design engineers. We co-operate throughout the design journey, exchanging concepts, preliminary drawings, final drawings, prototypes and production information for the delivery of complete and successful products.
It may sound a simple task to marry the industrial design with the electronics, but a team with experience in co-designing products while delivering the complementary elements can ensure your product is fit for purpose and for manufacture.
In addition to our co-design experience, we also offer the following:
Our role, along with the industrial designer is to create and execute design solutions for problems of form, fit and function, usability, physical ergonomics, marketing, brand development and sales.
